Being a Student Member of the Audio Engineering Society has never been more important, as technology whips forward and many segments of our industry literally reinvent themselves. A successful career in audio must be built on future-proof knowledge and skills, supported by a community of professionals who share your passion for audio and commitment to the highest audio quality.

A Student Member may be any student interested in audio engineering and enrolled in an audio program at a school, college, or university. Students may claim status as Student Members during any period(s) of academic training. These need not be consecutive but cannot exceed a total of 10 years. After 10 years a current Student Member will be converted to Associate Member according to the Recent Graduate fee schedule below.
Recent Graduate Fee Schedule – only available to current AES Student Members:
First year post-graduation: $50 (Student rate)
Second year post-graduation: $75
Third year post-graduation: $100
Fourth year post-graduation: $125 (Associate Member rate)
Please note that an AES Student Member loses eligibility for the Recent Graduate discount if the membership lapses anytime within the first 3 years after graduation.
The AES has active members across the world, including educators teaching in a wide range of audio programs. Educators are encourage to sign up to AES membership. Full members are eligible to advise student sections.
